Good long distance running is not easy!

Running seems to be second nature to anyone, as long as both your feets are above ground at any one time, you are running!

But, to run well, long and fast is extremely difficult. You need to really treat your body well to actually attain a certain level of competency in running. This is why to be certified a gold standard runner takes a lot of discipline and determination, plus some level of natural talent.

Maintaining the mileage is critical, watching what you eat is critical and resting well is critical as well. A normal person will not be able to achieve the gold standard of sub 2:10 in a marathon ever in their life time. A serious runner will be more likely to aim for a sub 3 hours which will be a dream come true for 99 percent of all runners!
