Who is in control in You ?

Do you really think your destiny is in your own hand?

21.31km Run on 25 Dec 2017

I did not have much of a problem getting up at 6:10am on 25 Dec 2017 for a run after a day of excessive food and drinks. But, as I began my run at 7.07am, I found my legs were heavy and my body was protesting, wanting more rest probably. I was afraid I might gave up as my mind was telling me to quit only after covering about 1km. I did not give up and just continue with a very slow run. I reached the 1km mark in about 7min11sec. As I ran further, the nagging felling remain in the legs but I try to think distract my mind, observing the surrounding environment. Soon I got to the 5km mark in 33min16sec, not too slow. Around the 5.5km, I entered the road leading to the usual park connector I run frequently. There are many other people walking or running, so it was much easier to run as there was company. I pace picked up from here and I could feel my body settling down to a good rhythm. I was now running a low 6min pace and heaviness in the legs almost gone. Reached the 10 km mark aro...

SpaceX 18th Launch of 2017

SpaceX carried out its 18th Launch of 2017, on 22 Dec from the Vandenberg Air Force base. It deployed 10 Iridium satellites on this 4th of a series of 8th flight booked by the Iridium company. It has been a record breaking year for SpaceX in 2017 in terms of total launches, landing of the first stage and re-use of first stage and Dragon Spacecraft. The next important milestone will be the Launch of Falcon Heavy, hopefully in early or mid January 2018, with an original Tesla Roadster as a test payload. It would be a sight to behold if they manage to land all 3 first stage successfully!

SpaceX 17th Launch of 2017

SpaceX successfully completed its 17th mission of 2017 on 15th Dec 2017 with CRS13. It launched with a reuse first stage and a reuse Dragon spacecraft, plus achieving the 20th first stage landing. The Dragon spacecraft has docked with the ISS a couple hours ago and pending unloading by the ISS crew.

Bitcoin ? Destroyer of value

The recent price run on Bitcoin is pure speculation, there is just no value at all in such a currency if you  want to call it so. It cannot be used for your daily transactions, the value fluctuate too much. It is just gambling, it destroyed value!

Singapore Marathon 2017

The Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon took place this morning, 3 Dec 2017, Sunday. The race started at 4.30am, but as usual there were a few waves of runners. I was in the C pen and started the race at 4:40:21. They changed the route a little and runners do not need to run through the Ford Canning Tunnel. But, the weather was extremely humid and you can really feel the stillness and warm in the air. The new route took runners to Bugis and Golden Sultan area and the usual South Beach Road but included Chinatown this year. One unfortunate thing that happened to me was my Garmin watch was acting funny around the 9-10km and the pacing plus distance was way off. I was not expecting any PB but was hoping to do a sub 5 hours. Training was insufficient, my mileage was too low, total around 740km for the year to Nov 2017. The first 5km was reached in 31:40, always trying to take it easy and not to be carried away thinking that it’s fine to run faster. Most people know their own pace ...
