Standard Marathon Singapore 2012/2014

Start Time: 5 am, 2 Dec 2012, Sunday
For many local runners, tomorrow will be a big day for them. Many will be looking to go out there and run a good race. All their long runs over the course of the last few months will hopefully prepare them well for the real challenge.

I am aiming for a sub 4 hr 30 min finish, will try to run a relax and even race.

The Big race of the year in Singapore is here again. The weather is going to be humid as always here in Singapore, the route for the 42.195km is the same as 2013. The only thing to remember is, pace yourself well, its a long way, don't waste your body before the last 10 km. The race only begin after 32 km, this is when you most likely have use up most of the stored energy in your body. (for amateur runners like you and me)

But, If you have clocked sufficient mileage, done your core muscle exercises, then just relax and run a good race. Sufficient mileage for me would be defined as running comfortably for 30km at a relax pace, and still able to pull yourself to the finish point afterward. (relax pace 3hr45min max at 30km)

Any timing slower than 3hr 45min at 30km would be a torture on your body, remember that running any slower would be even more difficult, it means you will be walking more than you run.
