Year 2024

The year 2024 just started! Hopefully this would turn out to be a better year for Earth! Less fighting amongst the earthlings and more helping each other! People need to be less selfish and less greedy, consumerism and greed is killing the environment!

SpaceX Starship progress in 2023

SpaceX Starship did reached orbit of around 150km during the 2nd Test flight on 18 Nov 2023. It was unfortunate that the Starship had to be given a self destruct command to terminate its flight due to lost of telemetry! It had overcome the most difficult part of stage separation and igniting the starship’s six engine in flight!  Not sure why it was mentioned as lost of telemetry as the reason for having to destroy it! Controlling Starship should have been a simple task, probably due to engine control failure! Hopefully the 3rd test flight would see Starship do at least 1 full orbit or do a re-entry attempt!

Gradual In Space Development

Human has a bad habit, that is fighting each other.  Another bad habit is keeping to a bad plan, like what happened to most grand projects in Space. With the ability to get to space frequently, it’s time to put machines or astronauts to work to create the future of mankind in space! Not sure if human can actually do welding in space, or else maybe bolt parts or modules together to create the future space station or habitat. The ISS seemed like unplanned jigsaw puzzle, randomly put together!  It’s time to do something useful in space, do near things not grand plan to find another planet, that you will never get there in 1000 earth years!

SpaceX 94th orbital launch of 2023

SpaceX has completed 94 orbital launches in 2023 and we could see another 1-2 launches before 31 Dec 2023. The 94th launch was for Sarah 2 and 3 satellites for the German Military. This has been a busy year for SpaceX with 90 falcon 9 and 4 falcon heavy launches.  SpaceX is targeting 144 launch in 2024, let’s see how close they can get to this number!

Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2023

Signed up for this event very late this year, around 19 August. Tried to clock as much mileage, but somehow plans just do not go as thought. Total around 962km before the race, with the longest run being about 28km.  Bought a pair of Addidas Boston 12 about 1 month before, and managed to run a 25km with this shoe. Overall the feel was soft on the sole and comfortable, feel good. Bought a new running belt as well, which was good, comes with clip for running number tab. Slept early around 9.37pm and managed to get the best sleep ever before a 42km and got up promptly around 2.15 am on 3 dec. Reached the start point around 4.20am and was at the start pen at 4.33 am. The start was delayed to about 4.37am and started the run at 5.11am as the pen was “E”. As usual, the start is always uneventful and dreaded. Went into the run without much expectation, just wanted to be faster than last year. Just ran as easy as the body possibly could, spent time looking at other runners and trying to figure

65th launch SpaceX on 16 Sep 2023

SpaceX continues its record breaking pace, with its 65th launch of 2023. The payload was 22 Starlink satellites. The first stage also successfully landed back on a done ship at sea after its 5th flight.

48th orbital launch SpaceX 20 July 2023

SpaceX successfully launched falcon 9 and landed its first stage on its robot ship for the 208th time. It deployed 15 Starlink satellites, adding to its growing constellation.

SpaceX 41st launch of 2023

18 June 2023, Sunday, SpaceX completed its 41st launch of year. This launch is the 240th overall launch for the company, it carried a communication satellite for Indonesia. SpaceX should be setting a new record for total launches by end August or might September and of course a string of other records. All the space watchers are just waiting for the next Starship launch somewhere about August, to reach orbit.

SpaceX 34th Launch of 2023

SpaceX launched its 34 mission of 2023 on 21 MY 2023, with the Axiom 2 mission, carrying 4 private astronauts to the ISS.

Human are ridiculous!

A lot of things that human do are ridiculous! Why spent 100 million dollars on a jet fighter? 13 billion on an aircraft carrier?  To fight against alien invaders? No it’s to fight against other fellow humans ! Why do humans do such ridiculous thing? The absurd thinking of those in power created the need to go plunder the resources, land of other humans and to the extend of extermination of other humans because they do not have the same goal or ideology! There are so much that can be done if humans stopped fighting each other! History kept repeating itself and no one can stop it!

Beyond Nuclear power ?

Maybe solar power ? Space based solar power station? Or powerful solar batteries ? Cyclical hydro power ?  Lighting powered power stations?  Human need to think beyond conventional ways, but first get rid of the greed for control over others!

Modern day footwear

In this so call modern day society, I am surprised it’s so difficult to get a proper pair of water proof, comfortable footwear in Singapore! Some months it’s constantly raining, wet all the time when you step out of the house. A pair of waterproof and slip proof footwear is important.

How to stop bad traits in human beings?

Anyone trying to stop bad traits in human would probably not succeed, as it’s built into human as a defence mechanism! Good human can only keep teaching good traits to their fellow humans and hoping they get inspired to be good. The devils in the head is difficult to stop, as it’s there all the time, just waiting for their time to emerge.

Is the human race finally leaving earth?

In the year 2022, there was a spike in the launches to space since the first satellite launched in 1957. This was thanks to a high launch cadence from SpaceX and also China. (61 vs 64) Are we really getting the hang of getting to space? High cadence seemed to indicate reusability, but so far only SpaceX can do it. No other entity has done it even once in terms of propulsion system reuse. SpaceX will still be the leader in this high cadence and reusability aspect in 2023.

Will SpaceX Starship reach orbit in 2023?

Maybe? Possible? It will be a great achievement if Starship reach orbit in 2023.
