Last PB for Year 2014

Recorded a life time best of 51min3.5sec for a 10km run at the stadium today, 31 Dec 2014, Wednesday. It was 31.5sec faster than my previous best of 51min35sec in Jan 2014. I know I can do it as I had been running well lately, so I went running this evening pretty confident of a last pb for 2014. I felt relax today during the run, my stride was smooth and I could feel my body holding out well. Regretted not pushing myself a bit more during the later part of the run. I could have gone sub 51min for this last run of the year. I hope to continue to train hard and achieve better time in 2015 ! Happy New Year to all !

Short run on 27 and 28 Dec 2014

Did a short run of 3.6km at YCK stadium on Saturday evening, 27 Dec 2014, in a time of 18min20.3sec. Originally intended to try to run a 10km, but by the nine lap, it was raining quite heavily, so had to stop, do not wish to get sick. Did another short run of 5km at the stadium on 28 Dec 2014, Sunday evening. I wanted to run 10km but ended up running 5km in exactly 25min. Felt ok during the run, but I do not think I could have maintain the 5min per km pace if I try to run 10km.

15.07 km at East Coast Park on 25 Dec 2014

Did a mid-range run of 15.07km on Christmas Day in a time of 1hour30min52sec. Felt good during the run, just that that the 1st 10 km was ran quite slowly. Could have run much faster, I am now more aware of how my body will react during the later park of a long run. I guess by running more long distance training run, you unconsciously get better at reading how your body react and is able to run more efficiently.

19.4 km run at East Coast Park on 13 Dec 2014

Continue with training after Standard Chartered Singapore marathon, ran 19.4 km at the East Coast Park this morning in 2hr4min45sec. Started the run at 5.08am, started slow 6:33 per km pace for the 1st km, got slower for the 2nd km at 6:40.Kept hovering around the range of 6:46 to 6:59 till the 12km, hit the 10km mark at 68:02. From the 13km onwards, the pace got faster, 13km was reached in 6:31, then followed by 6:26, 6:20, 6:01, 6:09. After leaving behind my buddy at 17km, I covered the next km in 5:03 followed by 4:55 and the last 0.4km in 1:48. I was quite confident of my physical fitness, just coming off the SCB marathon.

A New PB for SCB Singapore Marathon 7 Dec 2014

I woke up at 2.45am, in fact I did not even sleep for more than an hour. Had some bread and a cup of coffee and drink a cup of water as well. After washing up and changed, left the house at about 3.40 am. I slow jogged about 1km to the MRT station to take a train to the start point, special train service to town was available from about 3am. Reached the start point at about 4.23am and had to wait about 40 minutes for the race to begin. While waiting for the race to start, I felt very relax and calm although I did not put in the sufficient training needed. I just wanted to try my best to complete the run and I was quite confident that I could set a new personal best. The race finally started at 5.04 am, it took me about 3.5 minutes to pass the start point. As usual, the first km is always slow, with everyone trying to find a way out of the crowd. After the 2km mark, the crowd seemed to be spread out more and there was more room to run, from here on the run was smooth. The first 5km w

Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 7 Dec 2014

The annual SCB Marathon Singapore will take place this Sunday, 7 Dec 2014. The route is the same as last year, it will start in front of the Mandarin Hotel, Orchard Road, the heart of the downtown shopping district. Start time is 5am, it will take runners down to the Raffles, Shenton way financial district, then past the Marina Bay Area, to the sports hub, then to the East Coast Park and back to the Garden by the Bay and finish at the field at Pandan, City Hall. I have not train as much as I would like to, but nevertheless, still looking forward to the run. I think it's the atmosphere of the race that excite all the runners ! I am aiming for anywhere between 4.30 to 5:00 hr, perseverance will play a big part in my run, physically just not strong enough to go faster. Wishing all runners a good run this Sunday, relax and enjoy the race !
