Recap of Newton Run 2017

I was not well prepared for this run and I am using this run as a tune up to the Standard Chartered Marathon in a months time. It is difficult to run 32km when you are running alone, even running in such a crowd was difficult but you have more company. Woke up at 2.15 am after 2.5 hours of sleep, but was relatively fresh. Had a quick breakfast of bread and coffee. Packed my bag and 2 energy gel and a musli bar. Took  taxi and reached the start point at 3.50am. Had to walk about 400m to the start point on the other end of the bridge at Marina Barrage. It was not as crowded as I thought like the previous year, but still had to wait about 20 minuets for the flagoff. The race started promptly at 4.30am. As usual, the early stages of such mass run are always slow and people just trying to get away from the crowd. I ran without much purpose, just looking around and maybe spot a few people who are around my pace to tag along later in the race. We exited the Marina garden east around 2.5k

SpaceX 16th Mission of 2017

SpaceX completed its 16th mission of the year and made history with the most launches in a year. It also bagged another first stage landing on Of Course I Still Love You in the Atlantic Ocean 350 nautical miles down range, making a total of 19 successful landings. The payload was a Korean satellite which was delayed. Probably another 2 or 3 more mission for the rest of the year.

32.195 km Newton Run Singapore

Completed 32.48km in 3hr34min45sec this morning 29 Oct 2017 Sunday. Did the same run last year in 3hr48min. Although my race time is slow, I did not encounter any muscle cramps. I tried my best not to walk and run as much as possible. My overall fitness level has improved over the last year.

Bitcoin, Block Chain, Dangerous?

Everyone should be wary of this clear danger to our medium of exchange and recognised store of value.

6.54 km run 7 Oct 2017

Its been a long time since I ran in the gym, completed 6.54 km in 40min as it was running. At least some workout to up some momentum for my running!

10.5km run 14 Oct 2017 Sat

Started my run late at 8.10am, was not really in the mood for a run, but just ran anyway. Slow run with no target set, just ran onto any street I felt like heading. Completed 10.5km in about 1 hour 8min, at least I clocked some mileage.

SpaceX 15th launch 2017

Space Exploration Techologies completed its 15th launch of 2017 on 11 Oct 2017 and it's 18th landing of its 1st stage on the drone ship "Of Course I Still Love You". This is also the 3rd time a reused 1st stage is flown for a 2nd time, they are working to cut launch cost once recovery of the 1st stage becomes routine.

SpaceX 14th Launch of 2017

SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket carrying 10 Iridium satellites into space and also landed the 17th Stage 1 at sea on the remote robot ship about an hour ago today, 9 Oct 2017 Monday. The mission is currently on going with the upcoming deployment of the 10 satellites.

SpaceX 7 Oct 2017 launch Delayed

Launch delayed due to weather condition, will be on 9 Oct 2017!

20.3km run on 6 Oct 2017

Started today's run at 6.48 am, at the beginning it was slow as I was trying to get the legs warm up. 1st 3km averaging around 6.35 per km, I tried to maintain a slow and steady pace as my target is to cover at least 20km. I was actually running faster till about 13km because I was running through a park, but as I exited the park, the heat from the sun was getting to me. Slowed down to 6.20 plus per km and eventually had to stop to go for a water break of 4min. Covered 17.54km in 1hr51min. When I resumed, I had no strength to maintain my previous form. I struggled through the last 2.76km home.  Covered the first km in 9min, the next km in 8min23sec and the last 0.76km in 5min34sec. I told myself no matter how slow I run, I must run all the way back home. I think my mind keep telling me to stop and rest, the reason why I had the water break.

19.01 km run on 30 Sep 2017

Completed my longest run of 19.01 km for the year 2017 on 30 Sep 2017, Saturday. I covered the distance in 2hr 1min 7sec, averaging 6:22 per km. The 1st 12-13km was fine, but the later part of run was not good at all. I had to keep telling my not to walk no matter how tired I was, no pain no gain, just had to bear with it. I have a 32.195km run coming up on 29 Oct 2017, so I have to log some mileage to ensure I can comfortably complete the run. I need to be mentally tougher, the mind always trick us to believe that we cannot make it to the end. I need to keep reminding my conscious self to not be influenced by the voice in head.
