Human need to stop fighting each other

The way forward for the human race is to stop fighting each other. Save the money to help the less well off, by giving them the much needed education.  Saying is so easy, but the selfish human will not listen.

Year 2021

A new year has begun, year 2021.  Human is still going nowhere, their selfishness made them fight again each other, do things that harm each other, harm their environment.  They are always caught up in their fights, never realised that they are actually fighting their evil half every single day.  They have been at each other’s throats for thousands of years and will continued to do so for who knows how long more, till the day they wake up from their long slumber.  Human always dwell in their emotions, which always end up wasting their time. It will take a great deal of effort to wake them up, as their evil self always stand ready to defeat them.  It’s a vicious cycle.....

Yuki Kawauchi 100th Sub 2:20 Marathon

Yuki Kawauchi achieved his 100th career sub 2:20 marathon at the 51st Hofu Yomiuri marathon on 20 Dec 2020, Sunday. He finished 2nd position with a time of 2:10:26. Congratulations to Yuki...!!!

SpaceX 25th launch of 2020

SpaceX which already surpasses its previous best of 21 launches in a year in 2018, completed its 25th launch of 2020 on 11 Dec. The SXM7 mission launch a 7 ton broadcasting satellite for SiriusXM, from Florida. Another launch is scheduled for 17 Dec 2020, a NROL launch.

SpaceX next step for Human rated spacecraft

There is no doubt that SpaceX Starship will go from 12.5 km test flight to a 100km or more by the end of 2021. In the mean time, why not build a improved Dragon spacecraft to test out all the technology needed for a prolonged space flight?  The trip to the moon may only take a week or two only, but a Mars trip will take at least 6 months or more. Build a spacecraft to test out all the life support systems will speed up the actual Human capable Starship.  The test spacecraft can take a trip to nowhere, but maybe up to a million km away from earth. Human need to build up the knowledge in space travel, rather than jumping into something big and not tested. At the same time, meet up with new problem that will definitely surface on a long trip. A engine that need repair, a collapsed computer on board, how to treat a sick astronaut when you are 2.8million km away from the hospital? Yes, human need to accumulate the knowledge for long distance space travel.

SpaceX Starship SN8 test flight

SpaceX starship prototype SN8 successfully launched on 9 Dec 2020 about 5 am Singapore time. The 3 Raptor’s engine ignited and lifted off from the ground and went up all the way until about 4 min plus of the flight and shut the engines and tipped over using small thruster along the middle of its belly, till horizontal and glided beautifully down to the surface again. Just before reaching the ground, the engines reignited again and flipped back up to vertical position for the landing. It did land but could not control the landing and sort of exploded, it did not explode and burn for a long time, as the smoke screen cleared only after about 45 seconds. It was a beautiful flight and is considered a successful flight of 6min42 sec. Congratulations to SpaceX...!!!! Way to go. Looking forward to the next test SN9!

SpaceX completed 24th launch 2020

SpaceX has completed 24 launches in 2020 up to 6 Dec 2020. 23 regular launches and 1 abort test for the crew mission certification. For a company, it has done so much more even compared to most space agencies! In fact, it has done a excellent job, who else can bring back a booster rocket from 70km up and reused it 7th times!

SpaceX Starship SN8 first high attitude test flight

SpaceX Starship SN8 first high attitude test flight to 15km could happen any time from 4 Dec to 6 Dec 2020 from its Boca Chica site in Texas. This is the upper stage of the whole package, which also include the lower stage first stage called the Super Heavy.

9.05km run on 2 Dec 2020 Wednesday

Started my run quite late, about 7.20 pm. I started the run quite briskly, not my usual slow start. The route was from yck road to bishan park, I had to cross like 4 traffic lights, which slow down my pace. I reached the park in 16 min 1 sec, my pb for this stretch of 2.65 km is 14min40sec. Still feeling good, I continued with 1 lap around the park, was quite winded by the time I exit the park again. I still needed to complete the same stretch I took to the park. I started to reduce my pace, but I tried to just run at a reasonable pace till I reached yck road again. I eventually completed 9.05km in 55min42.6sec. If there is no need to tackle all the traffic crossing, I believed I can reduce the time taken by about 1.5 minutes.

Personal best time in running

  200m 28.3 sec 1985 These are my all my life time best timing. Hopefully I can still get a chance to better some of these soon!  400m 65.9 sec 1990 800m 2min41sec 199? 2.4km 9min31sec 1991 3km 13min01sec 199? 5km 23min15sec 199? 10km 50min21sec 2014 21.1km 1hr57min27sec 2012 42.195km 4hr4min26sec 2014

Leaders need to wake up their selfish self

The world can be a better place if world leaders were to wake up their selfish self! The Leaders themselves have too many own agendas, which are unrelated to building a better society. It’s a unspoken truth that the majority cannot come to term with, everyone to themselves. One more thing, the greed for power in human self will see the world locked in a perpetual cycle of fighting war, hatred, poverty, all because of the evil side of human nature!

20.15 km covered on 21 Nov 2020 Saturday

Started the run this morning at 7.16am, ran along Yio Chu Kang road towards buangkok direction and then turned left onto lentor Avenue. My intention was to check our skeletal northlink via yishun Avenue 1. It was a slow run, my pace never went faster than 6.30 per km. Not good, the road there are getting crowded with cars and trucks by 7 plus am. There are loads of cyclists as well, I think they are in dangerous situation with all the heavy dump trucks around. The roads side are all works going on, especially on the right side if you are going towards punggol marina. Messy everywhere, not good for running and walking. Hot as well after 7.30 am, be prepared if anyone is going!

Quest for Unknown aid human progress

Human beings need to have a thirst for the unknown, which will ultimately lead to the progress of their being a living civilisation. It is quite meaningless, if human intend to just deplete the planet’s resources over time.  What is limiting human beings, to relate to their greater surroundings, is their current technology level and thinking. They will ultimately make progress by just working on their technology constantly.  They will need to be less selfish and less power hunger to survive and to avoid destroying their own race. Power can never be trusted onto a few good individuals, who will ultimately go astray over time. Human feelings and thinking can change for no reasons, due to their weak mind. Human leaders are too dominating and have too many personal agenda, they tend to neglect the general population no matter how hard they think they are trying. The human mind is fickle and easily influenced by the selfish mind.

Learning culture should be promoted

A learning culture can help many countries still trapped by their past or a bad government. Learning new things, new skills can get them out of their situation.  There are definitely people in these countries who are trying hard to improve their situation. Perhaps they just need some help to get the push on education that is needed. If the people at the top are not motivated by greed and power, the lower rank of society will be better off.

2 Jan 1990 Tuesday

I got enlisted into the army, no choice compulsory conscription. Basic military training, it teaches you how to listen to order and obey order regardless if it’s right or wrong. They teach you how to fire a bullet from a rifle and how to fight with a bayonet on a rifle. 3 months of basic training, then they sent you to different unit. I was sent to the communication or signal unit. It takes away part of one’s life, to fight a imminent war that the human leader foresee.

New small aircraft carrier

New generation aircraft carrier need to be fast and well defended. As vertical takeoff becomes more reliable in the near future, the carrier act like a mothership to refuel and rearmed, rather than a runway. The flat deck becomes less of a focal point, the carrier can be less than 300m long but still carries about 100 combat aircraft. The ship need to be better defended with more close range rapid fire gun or cannon, plus more missiles for all purpose. The carrier would definitely carry fewer crew and more automated with less space for accommodation.  The current design of large carrier tend to focus on the runway, making it odd looking and not aerodynamic which slow down the top speed.

SpaceX Starship SN5 1st Hop

SpaceX Starship prototype SN5 made a successful first hop on the 4 Aug 2020 into the sky above the Boca Chica site. It fired up its single Raptor engine and flew to a high of about 150 metres and landed some distance from the test stand.

SpaceX 12th Launch of 2020

SpaceX successfully completed its 12th launch of 2020 launching a military satellite for the Korea Government. It also landed the first stage for the 57th time and recovered both fairings at the same time. Another notable achievement is the shortest interval between launch of the same first stage, 51 days.

Singapore Opposition made some headway

Singapore Singapore opposition party , Worker’s Party won 10 of 93 seats in the Singapore election. A super majority is never a good thing! In the next election, the opposition should strive to win a quarter of the parliamentary seats.

Singapore Election 2020

What will be the outcome? There has been a super majority since the birth of the city state, it’s about time for a change for the better.

Large warships lack close/short range weapons

With the emergence of remotely piloted vehicles, large warships are vulnerable to all kinds of attack. Air borne attackers are the most difficult to ward off, as they are small, fast and difficult to detect. The threats can also come for small surface craft or underwater craft, or even remotely controlled mines.  When the drones come in mass quantities, it create a situation where you need to deal with multiple threats. If each carry an explosive device and can attach itself onto the hull of a ship, then it spelled trouble. If you have watched the American movie “Battleship ” (2012)then you can imagine what’s going to happen! These weapons are going to be a reality in the future.  Ship need to be fitted with more automated cannons or machine guns to fight such drones. Small missiles will need to be developed to deal with short and close range targets, it needs to be able to be fired off at any instant. The Russian rotary cannon and missiles system on their current warships is ...

Current state of space exploration

The current state of human space exploration is not looking good! Too much selfishness in human survival, every profit motivated business trying to squeeze the normal person in the street. Human just like to fight each other for selfish reasons. If the US can spend 20 percent of its defence spending on space exploration instead for the past 50 years, imagine what could have been achieved by now!

Relax ! Humans are not going anywhere far !!

Yes, with their current state of technology, humans are not going anywhere far and still survive to see the future. Anyone with technology surpassing humans would wonder why all the travelling and fighting and killing each other?? The earth is like a huge fishing tank view from space, so what is going on humans?? Human nature of greed and power will kill itself! Human nature is probably hard to change .....!!!!

SpaceX 6th Flight of 2020

SpaceX successfully launched the 6th batch of 60 Starlink Satellites on a Falcon 9 rocket. This launch is the 83rd Falcon 9 launch, the first stage B1048.5 completed a historical 5 Flight. The rocket was launched from Kennedy Space centre pad 39A on the 18 Mar 2020, but failed to stick the landing. The payload was approximately 15,600 kg. The mission was successful even though there was a engine failure on the first stage.

10Km run 19 Feb 2020 Wednesday

I completed a 25laps or 10km run at the Yck stadium Singapore in 51min 02.6sec. I managed to finish the run without looking at my watch, which I usually do at the end of each lap. I gauged I was like running at close to ninety percent effort, felt winded most of the time. I am trying to move my focus away from my breathing, but it could potentially switch to focusing on how the body felt, not a good thing.

SpaceX 4th flight of 2020

SpaceX successfully completed its 4th flight of 2020, on 17 February. The Starlink mission carried 60  satellites with a total weight of 15,600kg. All went well except the B1056.4 failed to tick the landing, it landed in the sea just beside the drone ship.

When will the virus stop spreading?

When will the current deadly virus stopped spreading? Maybe in 60 days, by April 9 2020 ? Maybe, no one will know....

5km run YCK Stadium 6 Feb 2020

I went for a night run at Yio Chu Kang stadium, started at 9.05pm. Initially wanted to run 25 laps or 10km, but changed my mind as I felt I was running too fast. I ended up running only 12.5 laps or 5km in 24min15.7sec.

Recalling my SCB Marathon 2019

I went to the start line of the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon on the evening of 30 Nov 2019 before 6pm. I was trying to be very cool about the whole event, I told myself to really take it easy. But, still I was feeling as always apprehensive about how my body is going to take the 5-6 hours of running and walking. I started really easy, I tried to run as normally as possible, no rush and keeping the mind clear. The first few km was slow as usual, with the large number of runners around. I reached the 5km mark in 31min44sec. Although it was evening time with no sunshine, it was hot and humid. The next 5km was completed in 32min13sec, about 29 sec slower than the first 5km. The route was boring, the section passing below the elevated highway next to the old railway station was a lousy one. It was even worst thereafter, as you run up another elevated highway. The 15km mark was after the turnaround from the highway section, which I reached in 1hour37min2sec. I was glad to pass ...

It’s the year 2020

It’s the year 2020, it’s time to wake up Earth and do useful things. Stop killing each other and appreciate each other. It’s a hard thing to do, start with educating the people and do away with personal gain motive!! People in power have too many personal agendas.
